Gearing up for our next congressional hearing
I've been away from the blog for a few days, as we get ready for a hearing next week. There is testimony to write, as well as news releases, media alerts, and newsletter articles. Some notes:
- Started using the BurrellesLuce media relations tool -- very pleased so far. If media relations is part of your job, I recommend you check it out.
- I can't tell you how glad I am that most (could be all by now) congressional committees have started making live audio feeds of their hearings available. Just make sure your Real player's up-to-date before the hearing starts.
- I just didn't think the cost/benefit of having flashy fact sheets designed and typeset made sense in this case, so I've been designing them myself on MS Publisher and turning them into PDFs. They'll be available on my Media Center later if you want to check them out.
- The agriculture trade media are great people -- check out this article in Politico on DC trade media, "An Army at the Back of the Media Gaggle."
